On March 25, 2021, our neighborhood lost a longstanding leader and lover of the Duck Pond Park. Bob Guinn's commitment to our neighborhood association and the Park is legendary.
Bob Guinn was a permanent Trustee of the Park since 1981 and served as the Chair of the Trustees for a number of years. In the second capital campaign in 2014 and 2015, he guided the design process for the entire 7.5 acres of the Duck Pond Park and served as the project manager for the 2016 Construction Project.
Bob and his wife Kay moved to Peachtree Heights East in the early 70’s, living on Lindbergh. They moved to their forever home on Lakeview and raised their three daughters. At the close of the 2016 Construction Project, the PHENA board recognized the contribution of the Guinn Family with a plaque at the Observation Deck.
Whenever something needed to be done at the Park, Bob was there. At Park Cleanup Days, Bob always took the most challenging tasks. When limbs clogged the drain at the observation deck, Bob put on his waders and jumped in. As an ex-officio member, Bob advised many boards of the neighborhood association, as an advisor and a problem solver. His enthusiasm for our park and his friendship to all will be greatly missed.
If you would like to reach out to Kay and their family, please drop a note in their mailbox at 109 Lakeview.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please donate to the Bob Guinn Memorial Fund.
